Wireless Radiometer
The Pilot Line UV Radiometer (RDV) is a compact wireless radiometer designed specifically for the HPC Hydrophilic Coating Machine. By measuring UV irradiance throughout the curing chamber, the RDV helps engineers understand the light available to their coating process, identify lower-output regions, and make informed decisions about curing time.
The RDV pairs automatically with the HPC and attaches to its magnetic mount using the included telescopic pole. From the coater’s touchscreen, the user starts a scan, and the HPC moves and rotates the radiometer through the illuminated chamber. The resulting plot shows circumferentially averaged irradiance along the chamber's length and highlights the lowest average value.
Circumferential averaging reflects how the device receives UV light while rotating during curing. The lowest average identifies the region that limits exposure for a given cure time.
An onboard OLED displays live irradiance, battery charge, and connection status, while three buttons guide users through calibration using a dark reading and a known irradiance reference. A rechargeable battery, USB-C charging, and black anodized aluminum housing make the RDV simple to handle, store, and use.
